Challenge: The goal was to elevate the Kratos brand in the satellite industry in a cost-effective manner over the long-term. The purpose was to generate more awareness of Kratos with a wider audience by developing thought leadership in the industry.
Solution: With so much change and disruption in the space industry due to HTS and smallsats - there continues to be a lot of uncertainty in the market from customers, prospects and partners. The objective was to share insights from experts about what was happening and how that would affect the different players in the ecosystem. After careful consideration of different initiatives to try to achieve that goal, it was decided to develop a podcast. The Constellations podcast connects listeners to the innovators, business leaders, entrepreneurs and policy makers who are making and remaking today’s satellite and space industries. Thought leaders share their insights about the latest topics from LEO constellations, HTS, smallsat launches, artificial intelligence, IoT and more.
To support the podcast, a website was built to stream and market all the podcast episodes. In addition, several channels are being used to promote the podcast from email, Twitter to LinkedIn. In addition, several episodes have been recorded live at strategic tradeshows to generate buzz at the events and take advantage of the breadth of speakers that are available.
Results: In less than a year the podcast has had a plethora of speakers from a range of companies – satellite operators, network operators, analysts, launch companies and entrepreneurial new space organizations. Speakers have included many very high level executives and well known subject matter experts across the industry. The subscriber list has grown significantly and the number of downloads has reached several thousand and is growing rapidly. Customers, partners and prospects alike have become aware of the podcasts and many are listening on a regular basis.
